What&#8217;s the platform?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\"><strong>Emergency Preparedness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\">With weather events increasing in severity, with 3 &#8220;one hundred year flood events&#8221; in only 15 years, we need to ensure we ready and be prepared for disasters we may have never experienced before. Lets look at that plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\"><strong>Economic Development and Revitalization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\">The Downtown is making a come back, one business at a time, and with outside businesses expressing interest. The BIA (Business Improvement Area) is poised for a resurgence and be hugely more business inclusive area. The CIP (Community Improvement Program) is also active with dollar for dollar grants. We need go out and proactively engage the best potential employers that can contribute to year round jobs as a compliment to our strong seasonal economy and attention to the Wharf and our iconic steamships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\"><strong>Excellence in Governance with Good Tax Stewardship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\">The Town works best when all it&#8217;s parts are working together. That the Council&#8217;s agenda supports seasonal and full time residence, business and development, services and infrastructure, the arts and culture. Many prongs, all essential! A full forward looking kind of teamwork, planning, collaboration and good tax stewardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\"><strong>Public Health, Safety and Well Being<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\">The Rotary Club of Gravenhurst launched and initiative to address 6,000 residence of Gravenhurst without Primary Care. Support grew with the Town of Gravenhurst, the District of Muskoka and many more generous donors. Now we need to save the (Bracegridge) South Muskoka Hospital to reduce risks by having only one acute care hospital in Huntsville. The conversation continues through the support of SSMH.ca .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\"><strong>With Growth Comes Responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14.082px, 0.88rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 21px);\">I believe that the District&#8217;s forecasted growth in population will be exceeded, while the 55+ demographic moves from 47%, up to 55% by 2051. Even with hundreds of affordable units to be added to the District, it was reported that homelessness will still increase by 15%.
